JOURNAL / IDEAS IN PROGRESS
The first frame is no longer enough
A contemporary identity is experienced through transitions, interfaces, film, sound and repeated behaviour. Motion should not arrive at the end as decoration. It should be part of the central idea.
We start with verbs. Does the identity cut, gather, reveal, stretch or interrupt? A clear behaviour can connect a launch film, a product interface and a six-second social post more effectively than a fixed layout ever could.
Build a grammar, not a showreel
The best motion systems are repeatable by real teams. A few recognisable behaviours create continuity while leaving enough range for different formats, stories and speeds.
